Three things to know before you move here

Summerlin is a car community

There is no rail on the west side. RTC routes serve Charleston, Rampart and Downtown Summerlin, but plan on driving.

Use the Beltway, not the Strip

The 215 loops the whole valley. For anything south or east, it is almost always faster than surface streets.

Trails count as transportation

150+ miles of connected Summerlin trail let you reach parks, schools and Downtown Summerlin on foot or bike.

Peak windows on the west side

  • Eastbound Summerlin Parkway: 7:00–8:30 AM, heaviest at the US-95 merge.
  • Westbound US-95 to Summerlin Parkway: 4:15–6:00 PM.
  • 215 South toward the airport: 7:30–9:00 AM and 4:00–6:00 PM.
  • SR-159 to Red Rock: Saturday and Sunday 7:30–10:30 AM, October through April.
  • Downtown Summerlin parking: Friday and Saturday evenings, plus every Aviators home game.
