Cookio Café

This is a wonderful little cafe tucked off of Fort Apache. This time around we did not order lunch, but plan to be back to try some of the yummy looking items. We stopped in for a coffee and were greeting with such kindness. The service we received was top notch! Coffees were fantastic and we decided to stop back after our errand to grab some cookies for home. On our return visit we grabbed several cookies, a mojito and a couple sweet layers. Let me tell you... those sweet layers are devine! The cookies were good as well, especially if you're someone that doesn't like the overly sweet cookies that you find everywhere else. I wish this place had better visibility from the street to increase foot traffic 😊

What an amazing place! The cafe is incredibly clean, and the food is truly exceptional. They have a great selection of sandwiches, but the highlight for me is the authentic Costa Rican breakfast. The gallo pinto with eggs and carne mechada is world-class. Being Mexican and married to a Costa Rican woman who is an incredible cook herself, I know exactly what authentic, homemade flavor should taste like—and this place definitely has it. The owners, Alejandro and Johnny, are the ones cooking, and they truly make you feel like family from the moment you walk in. If you are looking for high-quality food and a warm, welcoming environment, I highly recommend checking them out!

Amazing place. The food us delicious with great presentation. The place is spotless clean, bright, modern and inviting and the owners were personable and very welcoming. The sandwiches and dessert were amazing!! And the natural juices and mojitos (mocktails) absolutely delicious!! We tried a lot of different food and everything was so good!! Authentic flavors in a great ambiance. Highly recommended!!

Alejandro made me feel welcome at his store. He was so friendly and delightful to talk to. I don't drink alcohol so the non-alcoholic mango mojito was so good. I also had the beef and spinach/mushroom empanadas which were delicious and so flaky. There were so many options that I'll have to come back and try some of their many desserts. I took this picture after I cut two of the empanadas & bit into one of them. Smelled and looked so good, that I couldn't wait.

Everything looks amazing. I’m just passing by but their cookies look super detailed that im so curious how they do it! The staff are really polite and friendly and even answered some questions I had. They have a super cozy atmosphere as well and I think I’d find myself dozing off if I ate here! Definitely recommend!
